Chhath is one of the greatest festivals of people living in the Terai region. It is celebrated for four days after the day of Bhai tika. It is celebrated on the sixth day of Kartik Shukla. So, this festival is known as Chhath.
Chhath festival is mostly celebrated for two days and people worship The Sun as a god at this festival. There is tradition to take fasting on the day before Chhath. By and worship the sun that is Setting in the evening time.
On the day of Chhath, they wake up early in the morning and again worship the sun that is just rising. It is also their transition to light different Diyos on the floating banana trees. It is said that if they do so from their inner heart, then they get progress in their life. Not only this, but it is also believed that by doing so, but their house is also filled with peace and those who take fasting during this festival can get rid of different kinds of skin diseases. In Pooja, they take varieties of tasty food. Mostly, people make varieties
of sweets during this festival.
